Obama Gets Sassy

It's not as bad as "I'm the decider," but it's pretty lame and doesn't fall into his whole dignified routine. Still, it's kind of fun to see him being a dick. He just better be prepared for the blow back:

In an exchange with Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) about the [bailout package], the president shot back: "I won," according to aides briefed on the meeting.

"I will trump you on that."

Oh, snap. You know the one way to make people less likely to join your side? Gloating. It may have worked with Bush, but that was because Republicans controlled congress. Oh sure, Democrats are the ones who control congress right now, and you'd think they'd be to Obama as the Republicans were to Bush.

Think again.

Congressional Republicans may be mindless followers willing to support any disastrous agenda, so long as it comes down from their ideological leader, but Democrats are just as bad—only different. The Dems are notorious in-fighters, pussies, and opportunists only willing to support their leader when it benefits them and, occasionally, their constituencies.

Obama should be smart enough to recognize this, and better not start alienating his opposition—whatever their political persuasion may be.
